I have been working on the scripting side for the last few weeks so decided I was at a good point to start working on the first scene of the game. I decided to sculpt and paint the terrain manually instead of using a height map or terrain creation tool and so far I am pretty pleased with the result. This is just half of the first scene and is in no way an example of a final result. I was just really pleased with the waterfall and river so thought I would share.

I was originally going to post a video but my video capture software is giving me trouble tonight so here is a screen shot. Keep in mind I haven't added trees or vegetation yet lol.

P.S. DO NOT disrespect the capsule, he is a epic character!

I am currently working on that today. I am planning on a video at some point in the next few days.

Can you please tell me what screen capture program you use to record gameplay? :)

I use Cam Studio myself http://camstudio.org I am sure there are probably better ones but it is free and open source and works for what I use it for. If you would like longer videos I am sure there is probably better programs out there though.

Really starting to come together and very proud of the waterfall as it has taken me quite some time to get it the way I wanted it. I also added music, ambience and sound effects. Will maybe have a video up later on tonight.

Not really liking the stretchy bits on the terrain, but the assets and waterfall look good.
The grass looks alright, a little large scale compared to the static models and a little wind swept - different, but the stretched rocks really stand out as a flawed area above the house and blue tree.
Where is the epic capsule character??
    Nice progress
