    Hello,

I need to install the old version 2017.1 to be able to open an old project of mine. This wont run on a newer version of Unity.

So far so good, but Im not able to install the .NET scripting backend. I run the installer with UWP .NET selected, the package is downloaded, installed into the correct directory, but still I cant select .NET as backend, only IL2CPP. Tried the installation several time, and used the downloaded metro package to perform the installation "manually".

In the parallel installed Unity 2018.3 .NET is working just fine.

    Any ideas?

I didnt look into this issue for a while, but ran some updates on the 2018.3 version (with some reinstallations as well because an update of vuforia crashed the whole Unity installation) and now it is just working. I have no idea, what went wrong, neither can I provide a way to reproduce it.
