Hi, there I am new to Unity working on my semester project I am looking to design an app (software) streaming just like Netflix, or I would say airtel tv app both applications allow users to watch favorite shows. I am not sure if it's possible to design a basic version of Netflix or Airtel Tv App using Unity.

I am an undergraduate in Electrical Engineering and have to go through a computer science project. Someone told me about Unity therefore I decided to ask the community.

These apps are just simple UI on top of a massive streaming architecture.

The UI part is trivia. Unity can do that asleep.

The rest of it is movie tech: codecs, video and audio streaming, etc. In 2021 you would never make something fresh yourself but rather use existing tech, such as the open source library
    ffmpeg
to handle it. All of this can be integrated with Unity, to some success or other. On a scale of 1 to 10 I would put it around 8 or 9, just because of the millions of ways that extremely time-sensitive video software can malfunction.

Otherwise you can try using Unity's built-in movie stuff, but it's highly-beholden to the target platform you're on.

Then you need the back end server to serve you the content, which has nothing to do with Unity.
