    Hi,

Would you as a developer willingly host coupons in your Unity game(s)?

Would you be ok with the fact that people are only (initially) downloading your game, just for the coupon?

(Assume we are dealing with a sample of people willing to download games for a coupon)

I'd really love your opinion, this is for an MVP of mine...

Should be a decent idea. The question is how are large numbers of people going to know that the game contains a coupon so they will want to download the game?

Through a sister site that allows users to search for deals, the games hosting the coupons will appear in the listings.

(Thanks for your response, everytime I post something here on this forum, I get crickets..)

Hm, related idea: How about a system that would allow developers to exchange Steam codes for the games that they then would put into the game? This way developers could do things like "buy now, get one free", except with other people game as "free" item.

This would give less recognized indies a platform for free advertisement (in a word-of-mouth way as people who'd get game in a "free" deal, will tell their friends about it), which is especially important for less accomplished titles.

Of course both games would need to participate in the system in order to be eligible and "deals" would be time-limited with other games slipping in as "free" item after first game's period is over.

No interest in developing it, since this would involve webdev which is boring for me, but if something like that came out, I'd be very interested in using it.
