What I need is an APP for Android and IOS That comes preloaded with three audio files (I will provide the files). I need a play button that when clicked it will automatically play these three files in order, and then a loop function that will make it go back to the 1st file when the 3rd one is finished. I need it to do this until the user clicks stop or exits the program, or the track has been played for 24 hours. It will need to have a progress bar with the data being from 0 - 24 hours. The progress bar will measure how long the user has been playing the loop and save this info for the next time the user loads the program or until it reaches 24 hours. This is a VERY simplistic program that I could probably write myself but I just don't have time. Thats why I'm only offering $25.00.

This is a few hour's work, to the point where if I took on this job and tested the application before sending it back I'd have basically made less than minimum wage.

So you replied to my post why then? To make an offer?

I replied to your post to say that your offer is disgustingly low and if you can't carve out a maximum 3 hours for yourself to build and test this that maybe you should reevaluate that, not this.

Wow what a polite community unity has. Why can't someone just tell me what a fair price would be instead of acting like douche bags.

"I don't want to do this trivial job so I'll pay less than the minimum wage in most countries to get somebody else to do it" reflects more poorly on you than the people saying "compensate your labour properly."

I do believe I just asked what a fair price would be, did I not? And I do believe there is people on this site that could make a program as simplistic as I am talking about in less than an hour which is why I offered $25.00 If you can't, or you don't want to make an offer then shut up about it and move on already.

You could make it in less than an hour, but that doesn't include testing, otherwise you run the risk of your app breaking, or how some android devices have audio playback issues with some Unity builds.

It's a "simple app" like how a game is a "simple game."

    You want rates? Fine.

$25 an hour, 4 hour minimum payment. That's where I tend to start.

But since you called me a douchebag, it's actually $50 an hour with a 6 hour minimum payment.

No, it does not take an hour to create. You need to setup the project, implement, test, etc. I would say minimum two hours. Probably ends up with 3 included changes after first pass to customer.

I charge 140 USD an hour, so I would do it for 420 (Though I normally dont do fixed prices)

Now was that so hard? All someone had to do was say, "I guess your not too familiar with pricing on these matters. Heres a tip..." And I would've just said "Ok, so whadya got in mind then?" And I would've said "$25.00 an hour for 4 hours? No problem. When can you start?" But now you want to get get mad at me because you were cocky and rude to me first? All because I wasn't sure what a fair price was and THOUGHT "$25.00...That sounds reasonable for what I'm asking for." I wasn't trying to pay anyone any 3rd world country prices. I code stuff for people all the time for windows for $25.00 here $150.00 there. So I thought I was being reasonable. I have never made a mobile app. Only windows. So I didn't really have time to go over any docs and spend the whole 5 hours it would take me to figure this out and do it myself. So I threw out a number that I personally would have charged someone if I already had the know how and the skills to scrap this up real quick. So yes, a WINDOWS app that only requires a program to play 3 audio files on a loop with a progress bar to track how long they have been played, I could make in about 30 minutes. Thats the only reason I put $25.00.

$25 isn't for 4 hours. $25 is the hourly rate and you will be paying for four hours of time minimum.

You can most likely find someone who is willing to do this for you at your price.
I would recommend checking on fiverr .com, upwork .com, and freelancer .com

In the amount of time you spent complaining here you could have started this project yourself already. The amount of time you would dedicate to hiring for this job would come in beyond your proposed "this would only take an hour."

I feel like I should be compensated $25 for the 5 minutes I wasted reading this thread.

Just because a project is simplistic doesn't mean it won't take time to implement. Creating the project would likely only take one to two hours at most, but you're also asking for it to be on mobile devices which means setting up the builds and verifying that the code works on those platforms. Best case scenario if everything works it's at least one hour per mobile device.

Four hours of development time. Anyone capable of working quickly is likewise not going to be inexpensive unless you happen to stumble upon someone from a country like China or India. For that reason I believe @Murgilod's $25 per hour is generous. A much more realistic amount would be $50 per hour.

If you don't want to pay much for this my recommendation would be to upload it to Fiverr and see if anyone bites.

Because you didn't ask. You only offered an incredibly insulting price. While it really is a somewhat trivial task, it still takes time... time to set up, time to build, time to test, time to manage files, time to communicate, etc... The actual code may only take 15 mins but all said and done anyone doing this is going to invest several hours. $25 is a silly amount of money.
Moreover... this isn't the place to discuss this. Please note there are very clear descriptions for each of the forums and what goes in them, read those before you post again.
    Closing for all those reasons.
