Hello, I am working with a bunch of people to make a survival game and color blind mode is a part of the game. So I wanted to make something nice for people with color blindness and just by applying a color blind filter is not good enough. The game is set on an island where the player is supposed to fight enemies, hunt animals for food, chop trees to make a house which is also a major part of a game. So I tried to put a silhouette around some of the pickups but as the game is played during day time and there is not much difference in put the silhouette around the object with or without the color blind filter on. Can anybody suggest some ideas so i can apply to make it better for colorblind people? and if I apply any more ideas on the game like having grass and putting object in the grass so the silhouette becomes a useful function in the mode or is it a bad idea?

You need to give the player the option to change the silhouette colors to whatever is best for them,
color blindness comes in alot of different forms. everyone is different.
some might see a red object in the grass easy, another not at all but blue is okay.

Dotted outline is nice but I need something other than outline that would make the color blind mode to have some sort of purpose in the game apart from camera filter changing environment colors.

What do you mean purpose? Like colour-blind mode is a new level in of itself?
Maybe there are secret symbols that you can only see in color blind mode.

    Google for color blindness advantage.
From reading the first articles it seems that color blind people can distinguish shades of one color they are able to see much better than a "normal" seeing person. So work perhaps with very subtle shades of one tone for hiding a hint or secret or something like that.

Not all color blindness is the same. Having difficulty seeing shades of green though is a common form, so I'd stick to blues and reds.

That is correct but in my game the environment is mostly green eg. the grass is green the trees are green etc. One thing I did was that I put the objects in the grass so they are a little difficult to locate and put a silhouette around it.
