Hi eveyone. I am a complete newbie to unity in every aspect. I am commencing a research project (PhD), and as part of my thesis I want to investigate the impact of VR (specifically a construct called presence that occurs in VR) on emotional regulation. To make a long story short I am trying to find any gaming environments that incorporate a nature setting which is extremely immersive (quality of experience) in terms of reality. Are there any open source environments that would be available to use? How long would it take to become familiar and competent in manipulating environments? I guess I really just want to de-tune a nature environment (from some game) that is spectacular but without the game play i.e. an ability to just roam and enjoy the environment. Perhaps some of you may be interested in wanting to contribute to this study (will be co-authored in my research) or use this as an opportunity to add to their portfolios. Any help would be greatly appreciated as the finding from this study may contribute to future therapies.

    Cheers
    Roi

You could try CryEngine's woodland demo.

You might have a hard time fitting a VR headset on that head of yours.

Good luck. PhDs are fun. Sometimes.
