Hello, I need help on creating my first game. I need someone to tell me how. I am not looking for a tutorial where you drag and drop stuff into the thing. I want someone to tell me, step by step, how to make a 2D game (creating players, objects, walls, doors, rooms, npcs, items that you can interact with, and how to program the game, etc.).

I think there are two big problems with this

1). Its very demanding. The nice people here who answer your questions do so for no reward, they just want to help people. Demanding that they take out a lot of time to do this for you isnt the way to go about learning on the forums

2). Its nowhere near as simple as you think. You cant just tell someone how to make a game, its not like theres a secret method.

But, in case I got it wrong, heres your step by step

1). Make all the graphics and sprites and all that
    2). Put them in Unity
    3). Make the scripts
4). Put it all together in a level
5). You have a working game level

    Suggestions that may help:
    • Try; Fail; Improve.
    • Learn to read
    • Start simple - Nope - not simple enough. Cut 90% of your idea. Then, cut 90% of that. Now, cut that in half and you're getting closed to how simple you need to be. Get a box on the screen, move it with arrow keys, and you're off to the races..
Think that middle is out of place? Reading the 100s of tutorials that exist would answer your question, just as it would have helped you realize this is the wrong forum.

    Good luck,
    Gigi

First make graphics to drop in to the thing. Make sure the thing is running but not away from you. When the thing is running drag the things in to the thing then hit the thing and add scripts to the thing. When you add the scripts to the thing in the thing you test the thing by pressing the thing.

Lets imagine you're a mechanic, and I said to you "I need you to tell me how to build a car".

Where do you start with that?

The community here is great, and will help you where they can. Asking questions rocks, please keep doing it. But, nobody's going to hold your hand. To get the most out of both the craft of making games and the community that is here, you'll need to be doing your own, definable project and actively teaching yourself. Once you're doing that come and ask questions about problems, and you'll almost certainly get help.

The more specific the questions, the easier it is to help. The easier it is to help, the more likely you'll get a useful answer.

Alright. I think the subtle clues above might be hinting in a vague way that you need to learn the basics before wanting to make your own space shuttle with hyperspace capability.
