Need Good Learning Resource For Creating Mobile Games

I've been really struggling in controlling my character from UI buttons, I've tried few YouTube videos but all they were doing was importing ready-made assets and scripts without creating them from scratch. I had read unity scripting API and manuals for reference.

Does anyone have a guided path go get good at it or at least understand it.
