For seemingly no reason, a ghost of my character has been following the actual character in both the scene and game. After disabling animations, UI and even trying it with a random cube, the ghost still follows moving objects. Is this just some random setting I accidentally turned on?

Thats the problem, whenever I take a video or photo of it, the trail is gone from the photo/video

Thats exactly why I called it a 'ghost', the moment I take a picture of the phenomenon, the figure trailing it literally disappears.

if you cant capture the ghost on a print screen or video it means that its not a problem with your game, just your screen

try the game on other screens

the only way that you will be able to see this ghost is by taking a video of your screen with your phone for example

I can describe it as an exact copy of the character, including its animations and movement. It lags slightly behind the character but disappears behind it when standing still

I don't think the problem is with my screen because I can view any other moving object with my screen and it doesn't have the same effect.

well if that was true you would be able to catch it on a print screen, its just logic

i have the same problem as you, for my screen it shows a yellow ghost, on my laptop screen its better

you dont notice on other things because on your game you are hyper critical, looking at it super isolated

I just imported an open source project into the exact same editor however this time it did not have the issue. Perhaps I turned on some random setting. I will look into it further

This can sometimes be caused by incorrect temporal anti aliasing settings - if you turn off post processing does the problem go away?

Also check the motion vector setting on your character
