Mysterious GameObject appearing in all views (including empty scene)

I'm not sure how to reproduce this bug, but every so often one of my prefabs seems to be instantiating itself in the editor. It appears in the scene view and game view at the world origin. Attached is a screen shot of an empty scene with the object in question - but it's not always this same object.



As you can see, the scene is empty but there is something there. Clicking on it does nothing.
I am doing no domain reload, but I've toggled that and the object remains. The only thing that makes it go away is completely turning off the editor and opening the project back up, but it always comes back. It seems to happen after leaving play mode or when scripts recompile, but I'm not 100% sure.

Has anybody else seen something similar happen?

Fixed it. Just reload the project.
