My version of MS Visual Studio doesn't have drop-down script commands.

Starting on Part 4 of this playlist ... https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLB5_EOMkLx_WCGalAUeKXA1I-qQqYY_Sk ... I'm trying to follow along and learn how to make games.

This guy is using MS Visual Studio 2019 to edit the scripts. However, whenever he starts entering a command, his version of MS Visual Studio 2019 shows a variety of potential matches for the script.

My version of MS visual Studio isn't doing that. I'm having to type out "getbuttondown" in full.

I downloaded what appeared to be the 2019 version of MS Visual Studio, but apparently I have the wrong version.

Where can I get the version he's using?

You don't have the wrong version, you should turn on IntelliSense (the thing that does code completion). To do so go under Tools > Options > Text Editors > C# > IntelliSense. Here turn on the following:

    • Show completion list after a character is typed
    • Automatically show completion list in arguement lists (experimental)
    • Highliht matching portions of completion list items
    • Show completion item filters
    • Always include snippets
    • Show name suggestions
    • Show items from unimported namespaces (experimental)
This should make your overall coding experience much nicer and easier, hope this helps :)
