I just finished up with our new website featuring traditional 2D and 3D content.

    www.punkoffice.com

The VR section was created with Unity3D for webGL

    Cool!

(But still it´s kind of self-explaining that we use Sketchfab for embedding 3d-content instead of (Unity-)WebGL:
I would do it the same way.... ;) )

Sketchfab hosting costs money. This way is free. Also, I have more control with the code. Here I pass the mouse scroll wheel event back to the parent so you can scroll through iframes. I have objects that spin until you touch them. I pass mouse position (or mobile compass direction) down to the iframe. I have placeholder images that disappear as soon as the 3D object is rendered. Impossible to do with Sketchfab integration. Besides, Sketchfab iframe is on a different domain. I'd need to lessen security to allow cross-domain data passing

    Edit:
I don't mean to sound like a hater. I love Sketchfab! I actually do use it in the website to showcase the 3D scans, its just that for the really customised interactions I need to have full control of the 3D "engine" myself.

Fantastic! I think it's awesome. It all works well together and runs silky smooth on my S7 edge too.
