Ya, and only the compiled version will be released to the public, and for free of course. I guess I will release it in late June to early July with the Renault Megane Trophy Eurocup car and with a street circuit based on a town in Hong Kong.

Appealing visuals I must say, well done. Maybe you really should make some wallpapers to support this ;) Looking at car model I must say it's quite hi poly.. What's tris count for that babe?

Very nice but there is a glaring issue in the video. When you are in a real car, you do not sit quite there at the steering wheel: the perspective and distance and positioning is slightly off, and could use tweaking.

no web demo, as I found that it's basically impossible to run it on the web at all, and the game is designed with a Logitech G27, so the keyboard support is basically useless at all. I will release a version with Renault Megane Trophy after my school's game show.

    Another in-game preview(6624x2820)

Did you model an actual car (I mean like with the splitters and kit and everything.. not just the fact it's an NSX), because from a physics point of view, it's superb... The down force and drag reduction is great! (I'm a car junkie... sorry XD).

Lot's of parts are simulated in the physics, and actually the whole setup can be changed. You can adjust the splitter and the wing in the game, and the ride height does affect the downforce generated by the diffuser. Also on each suspension, currently there are slow bump, fast bump, slow rebound, fast rebound, camber, toe, spring, maximum suspension travel, packer......Still need to add more physics parameters though.......

Arnold, first of all, AMAZING WORK, if it's not sensible information, could you tell me the texture resolution you are using on your cars? and about the sound, did you guys script the engine behaviour or use middleware? where did you take the engine sounds?
    A lot of questions huh?

You and your team are really doing a commercial quality product, and you made it for a school project....I'm amazed.
Mate, this is pure talent ! I suppose you will receive quickly a golden offer from a mainstream game production company !

As my good friend Mr Skywalker would said :

BTW, how did you do the HDR ? What and where did you download the HDR plugin?

I say UT should pay this guy to make demo for them! And put this on Unity front page!!
GIVE THIS GUY A JOB ! Who's with me ?!!

This sure kick UDK/CryEngine3's in da balls.

I want to take this game on a date and have its babys so i can eat them served with machine oil served on a hot mainboard.
Seriously, i love racing simulations, and this is just crazy! It's just amazing what Unity can accomplish given some actual skill.
Definitely will be following this project!

The cockpit textures are huge, something like few 4096 textures. The engine sounds are newly scripted.

Unluckily gaming industry is suck in Hong Kong..........so I moved to architectural design industry already.......and got some serious design projects in this month.........so the game development is put aside at the moment....Although I am using some resources from this project for some other works already.

It's the HDR being developed by gtpdz, still WIP at the moment.

As I can't do much on the project at the moment........I put these previews here first.
Currently I am building a very detailed Porsche 911 GT3 RSR and see what I can do with it to the game in the coming months.

This is looking very good, and that is the problem.
The game is looking too good, i am sorry but this is very suspicious...

You said that it is a school project but you bought Unity pro ??
Not playable in the browser ? For what reason ?
    Not playable with keyboard ?

Sorry but can you give us some proof that you actually made this with Unity ?
I don't want to say that you cannot achieve this quality with Unity but actually, i have doubt...

You know that a school can fund his project, unity pro is cheap compared to other engines one month or even less of hard work can bring you unity pro.

If the school fund all student projects, i would say that this is a REALLY great school.

This is exactly what i am talking about.
In the video called AW in Action, at the beginning, there is no unity screen, you can clearly see the R logo of "Rfactor".

That is why i am thinking this looks more like a Rfactor mode or add-on rather than a game made with Unity.

    But anyway...

This project is the game version of my rFactor mod. The development build has been frequently shown in the public in HK. With that kind of graphics and physics, it's impossible to work in a browser. Also, it's a simulation with force feedback, not an arcade game, so that's why we need a steering wheel for it.

I also started to rewrite the code to convert the game into a modable platform, with the ability to add new contents to the complied game without using Unity.
