    Hi all,

I just wanted to share a really exciting morning. While I was eating my Weetabix an email popped up from IARC saying they had approved my content rating... 15 minutes later and the game was live on the Play Store!

I started learning Unity during the global lockdown using the tutorials on the Premium Learning platform that was so kindly provided for free (Thank you Unity!). It really kick started my development journey.

Hope you enjoy it and comments always welcome :)

It's pretty cool. Couple improvements might be to add a a tutorial or a "how to play" button. Couldnt find one. Also, maybe display the number of lives somewhere. Finally, when I clicked to watch ad to refill my lives when I was out, the app closed. Could be an error? Good job though

Thanks for the feedback, really helpful. Can I ask what device you used so I can check the Ad implementation and resolution? The lives should be visible as hearts at the bottom left (maybe not obvious enough).

    Cheers :)

Congrats! Nice one for the first proper game!
    Here are issues I spotted:
    - soundtrack starts with a bass beat. it's somewhat distracting. smoother loop would be better
    - 22MB looks too big for this game. I'd say it should be half of it (at least).
    - can't exit the level without finishing it. that's very annoying. introduce back button, handle Android back button or both
    - on Main screen: make the cube clickable and navigate to grid of levels (spent some time to find out how to strat playing)
    - a small tutorial would help
    - it says "Created by Tizzy Games". doesn't match the developer name "AppDragn". a bit confusing :)

Thanks PlanarBit, that's really helpful and I've implemented most of those here:

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.TIzzyGames.BlockBlaster

So I've now added a tutorial page (why I didn't do that to start with I don't know!)
I made the cube clickable to go to level screen (good idea!)
I've added a Home and Levels button to the Game Play mode, but once you start playing they disappear to avoid people realising they have failed and leaving.
Music is a bit more complicated, but I will try and come up with some alternatives!
File size just went down by 10Mb by creating an ABB rather than an APK... great thought, but I also know that can go down further because of the code and assets that I don't use.

    Glad to help!
Perhaps make the tutorial interactive? It requires much more work but people don't like reading nowadays :)
Good idea, but perhaps a small "back" button would be enough.

Take my advice with a grain of salt. After all, I just released my first game as well :)
    Here is it btw:

I released another update driven by feedback yesterday...

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.TIzzyGames.BlockBlaster

    - A button to indicate when a new level has been unlocked on the Win screen
    - Levels have been rearranged to make it easier to get the first 6 purple stars required to progress
    - Added a Try Again? Screen if player completes the level, but doesn't hit the target

There are still things to do:
    - Change the music to something more subtle
    - Add sound effects
    - Add a popup to indicate when the player reaches a new Rank Title

This is all really good fun isn't it?!

    :)
