Audio My cursed heartbeat audio

I am having a very strange time with a heartbeat audio file (.wav or .mp3).
I play the audio source once every few seconds. Sometimes, every time the audio file plays, it gets louder and louder on each subsequent play until my speakers almost blow out.

Here is the profile and preview:

Notice the "preview" circled in red. I have no clue how Unity has generated that preview.
It doesn't agree.
Is it audio file corrupted?
