Thank you! If you close Unity and do that it doesn't work. However if you do that while Unity is still open, then it works xD

I had this issue as well, after attempting to download from the asset store. I didn't realize I was in run mode and as soon as I exited run mode I was able to download the assets.
*solution* Exit "run" mode. Try again.

Wish this worked for me. Quit Unity, signed out of the hub, signed into the hub, opened Unity… 'Failed to call Unity ID to get auth code', same thing I was getting before. Trying to download assets from the asset store results in it getting stuck at 0%; I have no proxies that could be screwing around with this. Reset all iptables, checked all ca-certificates, nothing works. Debian Sid, Unity 2019.4.31f1 and 2021.3.25f1, Hub 3.4.2. Attached is a log for the latter.

I have to hand it to the developers of the asset store. Their copy protection is so good, you can't even download assets you LEGITIMATELY own.

Thanks, worked for me. I realised this was because I changed my UnityId password but was logged into the Hub with my old password.

This could work ONLY if you used the old Unity that you had in the past
