When I open Unity (start a new blank project, open an old one, whatever) it opens about 100 Unity-s, but then I can press minimise, and they all go away (apart from one). This happens whenever I switch back to Unity from any other program.

You mean it opens 100 instances of Unity? Can you confirm this in the task manager?

Yep, it displays about 100 in the task manager too.

Report a bug to Unity. That way they get your system information and can attempt to reproduce and fix this. Unity had an issue on Win XP where it would create a new Unity process every time you were switching between projects or were creating new ones.

I can confirm that I have the same issue. XP service pack 3. I start unity and after a couple of times running and stopping my game I have about 5 - 10 "Unity" processes running in the background killing performance.

Anybody know a fix for this?
