Question Multi-Parent constraint not updating in edit mode, misbehaving in play mode

    I have a simple Rig builder with two layers on a Generic model, one multi-parent attaching a sword to the character's hand and one chain IK positioning the hand in front of the character, hoping the sword would follow.

    Unfortunately, the multi-parent constraint does not work.
    - In edit mode, the sword transform does not get updated at all
    - In play mode, the transform values of the sword are not updating properly; the weapon is disconnected from the hand (Manually moving the hand transform does move the sword, but the chain IK rig does not)







    Things I have tried so far:
    - Using two-bone IK instead of chain
    - Adding a Rig Transform component to everything

    Am I missing something? If so, what would be the proper way to attach a prop to a model, and then animate it using rigs?

    After moving the Multi-Parent attach rig AFTER the position sword chain IK rig, everything worked fine and the prop was able to follow the character's hands. This feels a little counter intuitive, but it will have to do for now, if this is how it is supposed to work.
