Moving wireframe 3d minimap

    Hi!

    I would like to create a 3d minimap like the one which is in the Hostile Waters: Antaeus Rising. If we analyze the original we can make these requirements:
    • minimap should move (not just a circle mesh and change its points with continous terrain polling in the down direction)
    • texture should be wireframe with transparency
    • should contain war of fog
    I think a circular terrain mask on a second terrain object would be fine. Do you have any hints how can I start it?

    I haven't play the game, and i don't know what features it has.

    But from the picture it looks like a wireframe representation of a height map of a terrain. I don't know what you are using for your terrain, but if you have a heightmap, then you should be able to achieve such a look.

    There's alot of stuff here about fog of war here already if you look for it.

    How can I show just a circle part of the heightmap?

    The bottom/background?

    GameObject->3D-Sphere scaled down in Y and added to the gui?

    Not the bottom. I want to render that part of the minimap where is the vehicle.
