Every time I try to build a non-development PC build, I get this error:

"Moving file failed: Moving Temp/StagingArea/WindowsPlayer.exe to Temp/StagingArea/MyGame.exe: System cannot find specified file."

I've been unable to make a new build for days now. Can anyone help?

There are no special steps. When I select Build Settings, then Build (with all the default settings) the software gets about 90 percent of the way through building, then throws up the error. This has only started happening recently, I have been able to make builds in the past.

I can make builds for other platforms just fine. I can make a development build for PC just fine. The problem only occurs when trying to make a PC stand alone build.

I can make a standalone PC build if I create a NEW project, it seems to just be happening for one specific project.

    I'm using Unity 2017.2.0f3 Personal.

The full error appears as follows:

I ended up uninstalling and re-installing Unity and that seemed to do the trick.

Good morning, I had the same problem during build for PC.
I solved the problem by uninstalling Unity (version 2017.2.0f3) and installing the latest version, Patch 2017.2.0p4.

I hope it can help, regards,

I sometimes run into this, turns out Unity decided to switch platforms to "Dedicated Server", check your Build Settings makes sure it is set to build the right platform.
    I'm on Unity 2022.2.5
