Looking to get a new mouse.
Recently bought a new one, but its already getting wear. (Was a cheap one)

As I am sure a few you can relate to, I spend quite some time at the computer. And my arm is starting to get wear and hurts alot lately.

Can anyone reccommend a good mouse to work in Unity, Blender and browsing?
Btw I am left handed, but used to use right handed mouses.

I am using Razer Deathadder mouse. Very comfortable with additional two buttons on side.

Thanks for the tip. Was just looking at
    Kensington Expert Mouse
But skeptic on the comfort of it. Looked Razor but seemed to be more for gaming. But guess comfort is comfort no matter what you are doing.

Well...you're a game developer (I think) and Razer is a gaming mouse ;)

I've got a Razer Naga (aka the 17 button mouse). It doesn't hold up very well. This is the second one in probably three years because the middle mouse button/wheel has a tendency to stop working for clicking. The left mouse button will eventually start doing a double click when you only hit it once.

Razer's tech support is also pretty horrid. Most people I know have had bad experiences. I'm going back to Logitech with my next mouse.

Ugh, I hate those things. That's what our school has, along with Window Vista pieces of S*** computers.

I actually liked the basic Microsoft 18$ mouse. To bad my local stores don't sell them anymore. Also did not have the arm pain when I used them last time.

Not really into many button mouses. I just forget to use them. Guess it would relive some stress on the arm if I did use them and shortcuts on keyboard more.

    Came across this thing:

It turns the mouse sideways so your arm is more of a natural position.

This mouse is so alien! :O

Edit: How come putting your arm sideways will make your life easier and "save" your wrist? Have you tried that?

Is it a natural position? I would consider it unnatural since when you place your hand on a surface relaxed, it will be palm down. Gravity takes care of it as well as relaxed muscles. Therefore it's not the natural position.

    It's a terrible gimmick.

My hands fall naturally to an angle unless I am holding something. Sure your hand is not just locked in place already?

I do have a G100s right now. Had to get it replaced by the store as left button did not always register, after only a short time use. And now the replacement is starting the same way. Arm hurts when using it, and now sometimes even when not at computer. Now unless I want to buy them all, I would actually have to go outside to try them, and finding a store in my area to try them in would take hours

I have a Logitech Marble, but somehow they did not find it important to have a scroll wheel on the darn thing. Love it otherwise.

Mine naturally fall palm down when I rest them on my desk. Putting them on their sides for me isn't as comfortable. If this idea were more than a gimmick, we'd see multiple companies trying it. Sort of like those ergonomic keyboards.

Let's switch. You get my made in China 'PowerGamer' mouse (you can even have the keyboard which return key got stuck on the first touch) and I take your HP mouse deal? :)

I alternate using my my left and right hands for mouse use, so I need a neutral one.
I also don't like all these fancy buttons all over the place.

So I went for a Steel Series Katana, decent mouse, good price, and lasts ages.

I honestly don't think any mouse is good in my hands, for some reason all mouses I had had their issues. This one (PowerGamer, don't buy this crap) wants me to click 10 times before responding, my previous (Logitech) had a problem with the click functionality of the scrollwheel. Before that I had a Microsoft wireless mouse where a screw was too tight so scrollwheel worked whenever it felt like it. And even before that I smashed another mouse because sometimes it registered 2 clicks and sometimes 3... But for the record, best mouse I had was a simple cheap Logitech mouse but time took its toll on it.

Hey I bought a cheap one like 10 years ago and about a month ago I finally got tired of it and slammed it on the floor to pieces... So needless to say a 15 dollar mouse is still a good investment. However that was around 10 years ago a 15 dollar mouse back then is probably like 30/35 dollars now. But still, it lasted me a decade if not longer. A mouse is a mouse, you don't need a mouse with 50 buttons on it, that's useless extra stuff just to charge you more money. I mean they have there place, for playing games, but I don't see needing a 50 button mouse just to make them. But that's just my opinion lol.

I have always loved my Logitech Mx518. It's sold as a gaming mouse yet it feels incredibly comfortable for all sorts of design work. If your looking for something that won't break the bank this mouse is the way too go. Not to mention it lasts forever and can take serious abuse!

They don't make it anymore though. But the G400S is very similar.

Well, mine started acting flaky recently (would sometimes randomly stop working for a few minutes then start working again), so not quite forever. ;) And that's why I know about the G400S.
