I might have found a bug...
Every time I move the Mouse pointer from Scene to the Game window, the pointer changes into a two horizontal arrows and the only way to change it back is to get out from the Game window.

Does any of you have the same issue?

I have this issue with all the versions current available on Unity Hub Linux . As per Friday May 10th 2019:

    2019.2.0b1
    2019.2.0a14
    2019.1.1f1
    2019.1.0f2
    2018.3.14f1
    2018.2.21f1
    2017.4.26f1

I have opened a bug report just in case.

    To reproduce the bug do

1- Move the game tab between the scene and the Inspector Tab.

2- Move the mouse pointer from Scene to Game and the mouse pointer will change into a two horizontal arrows' icon.

Now for as long as you stay in the Game window, the pointer will stay stuck that way.

P.S. This is not happening in Windows.

i start thinking no more development/debugging is done for linux.
Bugs that make unity apps unusable in linux still live for now more than 5 years ....

    Anybody out there ???? :(

Possible solution: Go to Window, then click layout, and select whatever you want, I went with default since that's what I was using, and the issue was fixed. I'm currently using 2022.1.123f1, not sure if this fix works in previous versions.

I agree, I already submitted a bug report but the support is not able to reproduce it.
    Changing Layout doesn't help

I sent a report to Unity and they came back and told me to use 2022. Doesn't sound like they care to fix this bug.

I'd like to remind Unity that 2021 is a LTS version...
also if this bug didn't happen in 2021.3.3f1 it should'nt be so difficult to understand what's going on..

Still happening on 2021.3.19f1 on windows.

This might be placebo but I changed on preferences
    Interaction mode
to Custom and set Frame throttling to 10 and Input throttling to 25.

And I have not seen the issue since.

What type of mouse is everyone using? I switched mice to a Razer recently and this is when it begun to pop up. Before, I was using a generic optical mouse from Amazon.

I have the exact same problem, I have a laptop and I noticed that this problem only happens with my Razer Viper Mini mouse, this problem doesn't happen with the laptop mouse nor with a generic mouse that I have!

I also had the DPI lag issue here using a corsair mouse. Setting the refresh rate to 250hz minimized the issue for me to at least make the editor usable again.

One thing to note.I recently discovered something that was messing with unity here.
    It's a very specific thing.
I was using afterburner's RivaTunner and setting the framerate limit to 120 FPS to make sure no games run more than that.
But it turns out RivaTunner messing up with unity editor.... badly.... With RivaTunner on, unity was locking the FPS at 60 even with vsync disabled. And whenever I did any input the FPS was dropping to 40-50~.
I for whatever reason, if I put the game view alongside the play view, the fps was locked at 30 fps.
As this program was confusing unity editor FPS, this might be part of the issue. For both the DPI lag and the cursor bug.

Anyways, disabling RivaTunner solved a lot of issues for me. Now without vsync the playwindow can run at 400-500 fps and even with game/play window side-by-side the fps is not locked at 30 anymore.
Note that you need to restart unity editor with application detection level None for it to work. It won't disconnect to unity at runtime.

Thanks for the tip @Gustjc, you're on to something! I noticed an improvement with my Razer settings. If you load up Razer Synapse go to Performance, and lower the Polling Rate (I set mine to 500Hz), it may prevent this issue from happening as frequently.

TY ! my refresh rate was set to 8000 (razer viper 8Khz) and the issue is gone with 125 (minimum setting).
