What is the best and cheapest way to model/scan my home inside unity3d.
What are the hardware and software tools that could be used.
I need eventually each item to be individually controlled and programmed, ex:door, window, phone, TV....etc
Can any one offer some appreciated help for the young man.

Thank you very much. But if the environment is very big with a lot of details, it won't give the required details. Any other solution?

    Again, thank you very much.

I think proposed solution is quite good.
But otherwise, you may want to generate point cloud. Which is even more complex.

Stereolabs ZED or ZED Mini - it's a depth sensor designed for very large scans, the ZED can scan 20 meters away for example (ZED Mini can do 12 meters I think). It includes software for generating detailed colored point clouds (that's really its main purpose). Requires a fairly powerful PC, but works great. The ZED Mini can also be attached to a Vive or Oculus Rift to provide pass-through AR in Unity - it passes through stereo camera feeds into Unity, and its SDK adds any Unity objects to the world around you, and sends the output into the VR headset.
