Yikes. That sucks for people who might have been relying (or planning) on those assets for projects. That's one very scary thing about putting so much faith in third party assets.

Hi everyone! Jeanette from Mixamo here. As mentioned, Mixamo has been acquired by Adobe, which we're extremely excited about!

The decision to remove content from the Unity Asset Store was only partially connected. In fact most of our content was outdated as it was designed in Unity 3.0 and was not PBR compliant or set up properly for Mecanim. There were a lot of issues with consistency (both in terms of quality and pricing). We had originally planned to overhaul the contents on the Unity Asset Store but decided instead to remove them.

All of the assets are still available via our main website - www.mixamo.com . All new accounts will receive 10 free auto-rigs and 20 free animations, and the full version of Fuse, our character creation software.

If there are any questions don't hesitate to ask!

You are not alone. We are discussing this also in another thread:

    http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/adobe-buys-mixamo.330052/#post-2139723

I'd recommend to request from Unity the same procedure as it was when DaikonForge GUI was taken off the store: Make the downloads of purchased assets available again for existing customers (at least for a limited time).

I suppose you will have to request that specifically from Unity, since last time (the DaikonForge situation) they mentioned that they do not (yet) have a dedicated function for such cases, but rather have to apply a "hack" specifically for the affected asset.

Copying this from the other thread just to be sure it's clear:

I want to clarify on an important topic - Mixamo cannot unlock UAS purchases on your Mixamo account.

Unfortunately this is just not possible. Sales on the Unity Asset Store and Mixamo are not linked. We do not keep transaction records as the processing is all done through Unity's asset store payments and transaction system. In addition, the actual content is very different. On UAS we generally sell '.anim' files which are non-editable outside of Unity. On Mixamo we sell more universal types (.fbx, .bvh, .dae) which can be taken into any software and edited. Selling .anims allowed us to offer a lower price point for our Unity fans but it doesn't translate to our website well. Sorry for any inconvenience but I hope that makes it clear on why our policy is that a purchase on UAS will not be unlocked on your Mixamo account.

If we purchased Mixamo assets on UAS, but don't have a downloaded copy, does this mean we have lost our purchases?

Unity is already working on it. See caitlyn's comment in the other thread.

More lost purshases, this is getting very akward.

At the very least what has been bought should be available in its latest version before the dissapearence.

Question to Mixamo. So what about the free autorigs per week old customers have ?

Also it's not ok to get so much and costly stuff removed. Glad I did not buy any of their assets here yet, just grabbed Fuse on Steam when it was on sale and I'm sure Steam would not allow such behavior. Also it shows me to better buy elsewhere than Unity Assetstore if such things happen even to large third party developers. Seriously. People have to ask for what they bought here to get access again or maybe not even then ? This is not a bit customer friendly. Perhaps look at what steam offers their customers and learn. No offense. ;)

One of the assets I lost are a character set, these are now free on the Mixamo site. So one problem solved :)

The others were animations. Oh well...

Yeah I bought Fuse on sale, now I am thinking I really wasted my money. I will be a lot more careful about future purchase of tech like this... I am staying away from DAZ for similar reasons and have put all of my eggs in the UMA 2 basket. I am finding getting existing 3D models to work with UMA isn't as hard as I originally thought and I can use any 3D models that way rather than being dependent on 3rd party modeling systems that may or may not work and have complicated licensing schemes. While auto-rigging is nice, it isn't free and now it would seem I will no longer be getting it, unless I am missing something here.

Fuse now includes free autorigs. This policy changed about a month ago. I bought Fuse on sale too. It's now free, but people are making assets for it and there aren't limits to the rigs. Even though i paid i feel like it's a good system and a better deal now. I'm a little concerned about Adobe but it seems it will only get bigger now...

Thanks for the heads up on this. I kind of gave up on Fuse, maybe I'll take a look again.

I wonder if it is practical to port clothing made for Fuse to UMA ...?

I was thinking along similar lines. Maybe after the Adam and Eva models I am working on I'll give Mixamos meshes a swing.
