Missing Sprite Mask

I am trying to create a sprite mask but I could not find it. I see online that everyone can select it through GameObject > 2D Object > Sprite Mask, but when i go there all i see is Sprite.
My unity is updated to the latest version (5.6.3p2)

This feature is available in Unity 2017 and above .

Unity 5.6 is not the latest unity. You can download the latest Unity 2018 here : https://store.unity.com/download?ref=personal
