I just added the SteamVR package and the EditorXR package to my scene However when I try to find EditorXR under the Windows section, it is missing What information should I provide, I have enabled OpenVR in the SDK I am using an Virtual Desktop, which uses OpenVR from Steam Is there something I am doing wrong?
Hi @stevecam, What are you looking to accomplish? The SteamVR asset store package is no longer required in Unity. However, you do need to have the proper OpenVR plugin for the HMD to operate. -Amir
Sorry, I am new to using plugins however the process seems very logical to me I am attempting to view EditorXR through my headset The OpenVR plugin you are referring to, I just thought that SteamVR plugin from in the asset store was what I required there What I am doing I am using Unity 2019.2.12f1 I import EditorXR 1.3 in to my project I import TextMesh Pro I import SteamVR from the asset store I enable OpenVR in my player preferences When I press Ctrl+E on the keyboard nothing happens, I also don't see any mention of EditorXR in the Window menu I feel as if I'm missing something I want to document the experience for others who use AltSpaceVR to share their worlds and that version of Unity is required for the uploader tool to work, there is a benifit for others to be able to view their worlds and possibly edit them in a tool like EditorXR and to be honest, it looks like a lot of hard work has gone in to writing EditorXR Look forward to your reply Regards Stephen
Thank you for sharing more @stevecam. Let's see if we can figure this out. When you say you have imported EditorXR 1.3 (I think you mean 0.3.0 btw) where did you download / import that from? A separate test to make sure your VR setup is working - if you create a new scene, put a cube in it, and hit Play does the VR headset track properly. In other words, can you look around and see the cube?
My bad, I am using EditorXR 0.30 from http://rebrand.ly/EditorVR-package My headset is also tracking properly with an empty cube in a new scene, thank you for that It appears that importing the extra's package for TMP was my mistake, removing and starting again resolved the issue Hopefully this helps somebody else
Hello, @stevecam I have the same problem, I can't find EditorXR in the windows, even though I try to use Ctrl+e. I used Unity: 2020.1.17, then I import the package of editorXR from package manage (I use import package to import it "com.unity.editorxr"), then I import steamVR 2.7.3 to use with my Vive Controller. However, In the end I can't find EditorXR in window. Do you have some advise? Thank you so much for your help. Hoa.
I'm having the same issue. Unity 2020.3.25f1 EditorXR 0.4.12 XR Interaction Toolkit 2.0.0 For XR Plug-in Management, I have selected OpenXR. I created a scene, dropped in an XR Origin and played successfully with my Oculus Quest 1. However, like the others above, there is no EditorXR in the Window menu. Any other information needed to help diagnose this issue @amirebrahimi_unity?
@HeyBishop edit-mode EditorXR only works in Unity 2019. For Unity 2020+ you would need to use the play-mode version: https://forum.unity.com/threads/editorxr-0-4-available-on-unity-package-manager.978909/#post-6796988
Hello there, sorry for multi posting but it seems the community is completely lost on this matter, can you release an official statement so we know where we are standing on that ?
Not really, if other people and myself are asking questions it means that it's not clear. Please help us understand what is going on: 1 Is the new project really being worked on ? 2 When will it be released ? 3 Will you need community feedback for the development ? Thank you
