Is there a way to add a mask layer to an image? I've been trying to make a mini-map, but frankly with the size of the map, just having a full sized map spinning around on your screen is ugly. I want a consistent rectangle sitting at the bottom, and the mini-map only shows up in that. Additionally, how do you rotate images dynamically, and, going a step further, how do you rotate it from a specific and changing point? (say, where the player is).

did you tried to use a second view/camera?

an easy way of doing this is to have a second camera which renders in just a portion of the screen (you can change this in the position box).

this camera can see just one layer (clip mask), where you have a plane with a texture of your map....

There are quite a few topics about this if you do a search.
