    Hi,
This is a project that's been ticking over for the last 6 or 8 months that we are hoping to take to crowdfunding soon. So it's an fantasy Viking action rpg that uses Norse themes and artefacts as gameplay elements, with some cool and over the top characters, but not taking itself too seriously. Just a fun dungeon crawler with a driving narrative and a big world to explore.

The designer Marko has really helped bring the gameplay ideas together and I'm currently working on the art side of things including a detailed main Viking player character, and his inventory items. The system for character management has yet to be fully developed at this point but we expect to have several human player characters to choose at the start, different character classes is an option.

For the demo we have been using a few excellent K4 packages and Pathfinding project pro. I'm also creating new environment assets such as the Viking architecture to give the game an original look, and runestones will feature prominently in the gameplay.

All of the 3D work is being done in 3dsmax 2015 and Mudbox, and photoshop.

    Any constructive feedback is appreciated.

Some more 3d work for the game, plus some concept art. Interacting with the local villagers will be an important part of the game, and taking on new missions.

    Art is very well done.
I especially like the soft look of the lighting setup in the environment image.

What is covering the roof of the large viking house? It looks a bit like a furry roof.

    Nice work.

Thanks, what can I say. The Vikings used unconventional materials to thatch their houses.

These are some screenshots of the central village area and our coder on the game Neven Ignjic has done a great job on the inventory system, the pathfinding is great and also the prototype interface using RPG and MMI UI for NGUI 1.5. It's still needs more polishing and new buildings and detailing but the latest builds are looking sweet.
The roof thatching works a bit better on the other houses, not as 'furry' perhaps. The harbour area is really a placeholder at the moment.

I've been working on a female player character for the game, which hopefully will add some gameplay variety and replayability. A lot of improvements to the village demo as well which will be up soon.

Hi, I've made some videos to demonstrate basic combat in the game and the inventory setup. Currently we only have one special attack move, so the next task is to add more interesting attack moves and make the combat more dynamic. Thomas Hoppner, a new addition to the team, has been doing a great job on the coding and it's already fun to play around with the inventory.

Thanks, there are four of us working on it at the moment. We may need some help with coding for the demo though if anyones interested.

Another update, Thomas has implemented player control by following the cursor which is working nicely.

We are now working on a playable demo, set in a dwarf mine. It's still early on the level build but here's a walkthrough video. (The slow framerate is because this was captured in the Unity editor-last time I do that)

Looks pretty cool, the metal texture needs some work though. Maybe roughen it up a bit its very bland.

Yeah I agree with Raven - though these may be just untextured placeholders until the texture work is complete.
The level layout looks good. Nice progress.

Thanks, yes all the textures are placeholders, the wall sections and statues will get textures and full normal maps. I've UV mapped everything first so it should be easy to update the whole map once I get the textures done.

Thanks. We're still working hard on the project ;-)

At the moment we concentrate on the gameplay elements.

But in the meantime here is a new video which shows the progress of the dwarf mine level:

Hello, an update the dwarf mine demo level. I'm currently working on the enemies for this part of the game so the video walkthrough is mostly demonstrating the new camera rotation, environment interaction and new rune pickups and props including a teleporter pad I've been working on for the last few weeks. Of interest is the last area in the video from 4:25 on, which is a gauntlet of mine carts the Viking must traverse and avoid being run over. Enemies will also be attacking with ranged weapons and grenades to add to his woes.

Thanks, it's missing the combat and rpg features obviously so we want to get all that stuff working with these new enemies. Should be a blast.

Really nice looking trailer and great looking concept art.
This is probably an odd comment -
It would have been really cool if you could of secured a Nordic/Scandinavian voice actor. The gent in the trailer sounds like he's from Australia or New Zealand.
