I have installed Unity on the same machine with Win7 Ultimate 64-bit and Win10 Pro 64-bit with 32GB of RAM on an i7-7700 CPU @ 3.60GHz and a GTX 1070 GPU with 4GB, and I have encountered problems trying to build the microgames that come with Unity. In Win7 when I try switching to the Windows only platform, it also tells me that VE is not installed, even though it is, and then it crashes. In Win10 when I try switching to the Windows only platform, it tells me that the Visual Editor is not installed even though I have installed the VE2019 version. I am at a loss because in each of these instances I have installed Unity fresh & the OS was installed fresh as well. I thought Unity was supposed to be the best engine for newbies.
Crashing is never intended behavior. If you haven't yet, could you file a bug report for us? https://unity3d.com/unity/qa/bug-reporting
