material editing is not supported on multiple selection
    • Is there any way to uncheck the import of materials on all meshes?

Until Unity 2018.4.2f1 multiple material editing on meshes is supported.
    Why they removed this option?

If anyone still wondering how to do the trick, you can create a Preset if you press a button next to cogwell in the inspector and assing that you don't want Materials imported and then apply that preset to all selected objects if needed

Nice this is an amazing tip.

To apply settings including not importing the materials of a model, click the little icon next to the cog wheel in the inspector import settings of a single eg. fbx model, and save to preset, after you have set everything as you like. You can then apply this preset to any future models you import, in bulk as required, by selecting multiple.

Wow Thanks for the tip! Had more than 20 "same material" models and was a pain to add the material one by one.
