Is there a replacement for the old MemoryProfiler? (https://bitbucket.org/Unity-Technologies/memoryprofiler/)
Seems this one now crashes Unity when trying to use it.

    Beta notes include
Sounding like a V2 is in development. If this is the case, is there a timeframe on when this becomes available?

In the change-log there is this:
My conclusion is that in this beta 1 version there is the API support for the Memory Profiler V2, but the actual extension is not ready yet.

That conclusion is correct. The backend was added, but the Memory Profiler package to process and display that data is still in the process of getting wrapped up for its preview release. So you'll sadly have to wait a bit more for that.

@Scorr can you please post the crashlog and editorlog? Also is that from profiling a build or within the editor? And does the build crash or does the editor? And finally, which Scripting Backend and Scripting Runtime Version are you using?

We did test the old Memory Profiler against the new backend but something might have slipped by us. Also we're aware of a crash while capturing mono memory when using .Net 4.x.

It was using 4.x and mono so it might be the same one you are already aware of. Crashed in editor on hitting "Take Snapshot", and was running in play mode.

Weird thing is after I tried again it worked without crashing. But it did happen twice so far in two different projects so it's not a one time thing.

Attached the logs as .txt instead of .log (otherwise can't upload).

Also attached the project which is just a new default project with the MemoryProfiler added.

Yes, that is the mono heap collection crash. And yes it doesn't happen every time. Thank you for the info :)

@szanetti sadly I have no further ETA to share yet. We're still working hard on ironing out kinks like the mono heap crash. Though as we mentioned in the Unite LA talks on the Memory Profiler and the Roadmap, we're planning for a preview package release on top of 2018.3
