Do the exterior walls have actual thickness? Or are they flat polygons. Thank you, this asset is looking really great.

    Thank you eridani!

All walls which can be seen from both sides have thickness of course.

Reminds me of those weeping angels in Dr. Who. I would be afraid to traverse those steps alone...or even with someone else. I can imagine some amazing game scenarios there though.

The wizard tower is part of the castle or separate asset ?

Also is the castle in the store if it is the latter ?

    Yest and no. :)

Wizard Tower will be part of a Castle. But also will be presented as independent pack. And what is I am showing here is independent pack.

The castle in the story is my pretty old asset I use from it nothing to create new Medieval Castle.

    Hey guys.

It seams I need to freeze Castle project.

When I started it I didn't think about aspect of size.
In time when Wizard's Tower have 1,3GB size when in Unity pack all Castle easily will be more then 3 GB.

There is a limit on Unity Store 1GB now. Without selling from there there is no chance I will sell enough copies to pay time was spent on this huge asset.

Its very pity to leave it, I did much work and progress but I have no choice.
This is a sadly day. Sorry.

    Hey there, ;-)

what about splitting it up into serveral modules instead ? Or you might want to offer what you have done already in your store, so at least some people might buy it there. And if there's the issue with marketing it here, if not in Unity Store, well just don't do and send people being customer of your store already, an email. As you've already put in much work some people would propably buy it. Just some ideas.

Another one is the question if such things can be created as modular parts, so people can decide more of the look of castles, rooms and so on. If such is interesting for you, you could make separate sets using tiles, that people can combine. Personally I would like to see that as it's even much more interesting than predefined buildings. But of course prefabs are always welcome.

    Best Regards ;)

    Thank you for support guys.

Maybe I will release 1 floor of Castle which I already finished. (you can see pictures in this thread).
The pack will be something like 2 GB.
It will take me only a week or so to prepare all.
    Lets see.

I know many people likes construct locations by themselves. I have no problem with this. But personally I like something pre-built more. Something rich with not repeatable details like in classic RPG or FPS games.

Wow, 3GB is really big. What format is the texturemap? 2K or 4K? The result looks so good!
    Thanks!

    Thank you!

Yes textures are from 4069 for grounds, rooks... until 512 for some props. I can reduce some. But not all, because it decrease quality much sometimes.

Yeah of course your levels look great and it's always good to have examples or scenes people can use. Why I think modular part are a good option and the level as addition is because if everyone uses the exact same castle or tower in their project it's just like repeating this instead. What I think about is, maybe I want a tower for example but no angel walkway because the statues won't fit for example. So I can't really change it. Even if I could remove the statues I would still have the long stairs. Or I want to integrate the tower into a castle or dungeon. Would I be possible to properly connect it or let it have a cellar. Also why the idea of module parts might be interesting is that you can split it easier and therefor getting the size small enough for uploading. The parts itself can still be different, it's just the doors or hallways that need to be able to connect to each other. And even if you don't want too small tiles you could still go for room tiles that can be connected to each other. So each room is different but people could decide where to use them, allowing for differences how many levels a tower for example has. ;)

However one question I have about this one. Are all the tables and other props removable or are we forced to use exactly as provided ?

    Best Regards

I bought the Wizard's Tower as soon as I saw it was on your site. Looks great. I guess I'm not the only one as it's taking forever to download. I will definitely buy the castle floor if you release it.

Possibly you can get the castle on the asset store If you use very small textures. Just make sure you explain why in the store listing then simply offer purchasers the option to get the high resolution textures from your site, maybe include a download link in a pdf. Just ensure you make this clear on the asset listing, first line, block capitals, to minimise the negative comments from some buyers you will receive.

Solution is simple. Sell it with low-res textures and as part of pack provide link on high-res outside Unity store. You can also split it into several packs. It would be really sad to not finish this amazing work only beacuse of Unity.

Meanwhile we can also write to Unity team to wake up and increase this stupid limit.

    edit: sicga123 was faster :)

When was the store limit reduced from 2GB to 1GB btw ?

Wouldnt this affect all above 1GB assets ? Seems very strange decision.

This is a good point of course. Thank you!
Actually my pack is modular. except main walls and custom terrain I provided only.
But all its parts, includes door, angels statures, plants trees, rooks furniture... can be replaced moved or used as prefabs in any another you own location. This true also for all ground and building textures which can de used with Unity terrain and custom meshes as well.

I fully understand power and commercial value of modular locations. And I will see how I can make something from I have in future.

    I have a good news.

After 3 days and 4 attempts of 6-7 hours each I uploaded Wizard's Tower for review today! A-A-A-A! :)

So I will release next pack which will be 1 floor with dungeon and crypt (pictures you can see in this thread) in 1-2 weeks hopefully. It will be only interiors with animated doors of course. And with possibly option to add more floors and outdoor Castle assets in future, which will connect seamlessly with this asset.

It seams was my mistake. As I wrote before I already uploaded 1.3 GB asset. So limit is more then 1 GB obviously.
