Mecanim question..

How I can do animation of mecanim don' t animate some bones. Example, I must animate a character with mecanim but not the arms. How I can do this? Thanks in advance.

 

You have to create a mask and select what you don't want to move.

Did you watch the Unity Mecanim tutorial video? Will explains it pretty good when he makes the robot wave and also look at the target.
Hopefully that will help you out.

This is a very basic queation, so I suggest you search some tutorials about animation of Mecanim, and to learn systematically. It will be good for you.
