    Would value some advice:

I have a character animation playing a "pokes fire" animation where the poker is keyframed to rotate in the characters hand. No setting combination seems to allow me to import it though? Humanoid seems to ignore props, and generic seems to not play either.

If its any consequence I have my character separate doing the animation fine,
And a duplicate character with all skinned meshes turned off so its just the poker object
(This keeps my initial character free of carrying around any clutter.)

EDIT Nevermind, turns out it was a mask issue.

Import the character and the props separately. When you place them in the scene adjust the position of the prop so that it is in the character's hand. Then parent the prop to the character's hand bone.:)

Yes I was aiming to avoid parenting relationships though, it can add a lot of elements attached to a character and for better or worse the design of this game requires the characters retain a sort of simplicity and re-usability. You're right though, that could work. I did get it sorted though thanks.
