Working on school project having to import animations from Maya to Unity. I know default Maya is set to Centimeters and Unity is Meters. For Animations, would it be important I setup Maya's grid to match Unity's OR could I just leave Maya Grid in default settings and import into Unity just fine?

It should be handle by Unity, depending from which authoring tool(maya, 3ds max, etc ... ) the file come we apply a different scale factor before importing the file in unity. If for some reason the size doesn't match what you are expecting you can change the scale factor in the model importer.

First, thanks for you reply. I've been watching this thread and another I've made for almost 2 weeks and you're the first to answer. Thank you.

Now about what you said. If I understand correctly, the scaling would be handled by Unity rather than Maya. So I can animate Maya just in centimeters and when I import the model and animation into Unity I will have to setup the scale properly through Unity?

Create a character with 180 cm high. Import it into unity, and in unity it will be 1.8 meters high default.
