    This sort of flew under the radar for me: https://makeanything.autodesk.com/maya-indie

    It's the full version of Maya and costs about the same as Maya LT if you earn under $100,000.. I use Maya at work but this license appears to be per project so it seems cool for hobby games / side work.

    I'm currently using Modo / Blender at home and some of the compatibility issues between engines is a bit annoying to say the least.
