Hoping someone can point me in the right direction. We're working with Solidworks and we successfully imported our CAD object using the tutorial at this website: http://www.cad-vr.com/solidworks-vr/. However, as you can see in the tutorial (and we experienced the same) the object (.obj file) appears without the original color/shading from the Solidworks version. We also have a separate material file (.mtl) associated with the obj file. I think I need to import the material file as an asset, but can't seem to determine the correct process. Any help with importing material files is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    hi,

I just did a quick test with a simple obj exported from Blender which included a mtl file. I found if i add the mtl file to the assets folder first then put the obj file next to it, the model's colours are picked up. Reimporting the obj with right click reimport also seemed to work.

I guess the mtl needs to be there before the obj is imported so it picks up.
