Massive lag when uGUI Text rendered on iPad

    I have a massive lag (~100ms) when uGUI Text rendered on the iPad. I see it in profiler. It's marked as "Font.CacheFontForText". I use unity 4.6.3. How can I fix it? If I change font property CHARACTER from Dynamic to Unicode it's solve the problem but Text looks blurry

    Sounds like a bug. best to report is using the Unity bug reporter.

    Use Text Mesh Pro asset, only way currently, I made a thread about this in iOS section of forum.

    What do you mean dude?, it supports uGUI - I just replaced the Unity text and used the asset and spikes where gone, I'm not sure what magic it does in the background.

    Yes its not ideal as have to spend money on a asset (but its a good one for future) and thing is we do not want 3rd party plugins to pollute project when no needed.
