I'm a game developer for Simbryo, an indie studio based in Charlotte NC. We've just released our first game on Steam, a top-down shooter with a gangster/film noir theme, called Man of Honor. In addition to a diverse array of weapons, players can use other skills, such as taunting enemies to slow down time or carrying an enemy’s corpse like a shield to help them make it through the levels and achieve high scores.

    Nice job, congrats :)

I think the demo video doesn't showcase the combat too well. It seems like every clip ends with you merking the unaware NPCs without them really getting a chance to respond.

Have you considered this in your combat system design at all?

You know, that's a really good point. We were probably too focused on going for high scores and blazing through the levels when we were recording footage for the trailer, as once you know a level well enough playing that way becomes second nature. But it doesn't give the enemies a chance to shine and probably makes the game look easier than it really is.

We're going to be releasing another trailer for the game soon and we'll definitely take your advice when constructing it. Thanks.
