    Hey Teila.

That's Default UMA. It's just re-textured. Everything is customizable as usual.

What's the status on this? It doesn't seem to be in the Asset Store.

@ge01f. Yeah. They are wips (thanks virror). It should be done in about a week plus review time.

    @Teila
Will tweak it. I won't be making it super thin like DD, since they are leather straps (more like a dwarf thing).

Makes sense. :) However, that thick band would hurt when the poor dwarf runs! It will be perfect for one of my cultures, similar to norsemen. I actually like the embossed leather look to the band.

    Great so far!
Will the new body textures be included in the hair pack or sold as a separate package?

@virror I think I'm going to sell them separately for about 5 (male and fem together). Still contemplating.

@ecurtz Thanks for the link. The designs are actually complete. I just need to finish up the last few (plus tweaks). Will have a look at that for the next pack.

Yay! I have spent the last few days setting up the ones I have from you and getting ready to use them in our character creation. The hairs are coming at the perfect time. Can't wait for the skins. :)

I agree. The only think I wish for now is a skin that isn't so muscular. I have the Athena and Dionysus and those are beautiful but the muscles look really weird on an overweight innkeeper or a simple villager. The worse part seems to be the stomachs on those. They look emaciated even when overweight. The regular UMA skills are a bit better but the faces need work. Hopefully someone will come out with some alternative skins so we have more choices. At least Will is out there! We have more choices now than we did.

@Teila Good point. I already thought about smoother variation. I may do a few variations later. I'll also need an extra muscular one for the Orc.

UMA Hair pack 1 is submitted. I added worded tutorial for setting up the beards and hair in the random set, along with some starter color references for diffuse and specular.

How about some barbarian outfits for females? Obviously the top will need to be different, but love the bottom for a woman. :)

Yep. Will be a few fem barbarians as well. I have a few already done, they just need a refit.

Hey Virror. Hair pack should be up in a few days if everything goes well with the review.

Body textures will most likely be submitted in the next couple of days.

Tried the Female hair so far. Overall, it looks very nice in game. I really appreciate you making these.

However, I have had a few issues.

Hair 9, which is a very cute hair, has some bad artifact issues, both in the hair and on the neck. Hair 8 would look so much better without the shorter texture on top of the long. All long would be very nice. I might try adjusting this myself in Maya.

Some of the hair requires ears, some does not. So if you use the random set included with the asset, you will find missing ears, or rather holes, with some of the hairs. You must add the ears back in and set up random sets separately for those that need ears and those where the hair should cover the ears. Easily fixed by the user. :) Just thought I would throw that out there so others are not to confused.

Another minor issue that can be frustrating..Naming conventions for slots and overlays should be the same. I like how you use the same name for both slot/overlay for each mesh but in some cases you used small letters and in others all caps, such as BAND, or you have a space in some and no space in others. I had to keep double checking. :)

My biggest problem seems to be the bands. I can't get them all to work. I tried setting up Hair 5 as the only hair in the random set and then requiring Hair 5 for the band and it didn't work. I tried without requiring 5, tried as a separate slot, still didn't work. I checked the naming conventions but still didn't work. I did get Hair 6 with bands to work. Hair 7 worked but there is no overlay for the bands. I was able to use Hair1 or the braid hair as the band overlay but both had holes in the front of the band.

I may be doing something wrong. I also suggest that you give us a list of what overlays go with what hair/bands because it is not always obvious. Took me a bit to figure out that Hair 11 has the hair braid overlay. :)

As stated in the Random set tutorial: "Bands use F_Hair 5 BAND". There are only 3 overlays used for all the female hairs.

Tutorial also states: "All hairs use "Hair 1" exception: F_Hair 11 (Braid Hair).

Send me an email and I'll help you resolve the issue.

Thanks for mentioning the ears. Will add it to the documentation.

Frankly, there's not a lot of adequate documentation on exactly how to use UMA. I may do a more extended tutorial from A-B (creating slots/overlays to adding them to a random set etc.) in the future.

I see your point about hair 8. I'll tweak it and update it in the next few days.

Hair 9 I think you are referring to the rigging at the neck. Send me an image and I'll check it out.

Fernando has tried to document UMA and make tutorials, but it seems virtually everyone still runs into trouble with it. I'd welcome any additional effort to educate us about using UMA.

Fernando's tutorials are all video and lots of things are missed in videos. Someone needs to make written tutorials for UMA. I have figured it out but it took me a very long time and lots of work. I can add slots and overlays now and even make my own overlays and slots. :) But wow...if it were just better documented I would have saved so much time.

Will, I will send you some pictures and info tomorrow. I was out tonight and just arrived home and too tired to go through my stuff right now. Thanks for the reply.
