for those who makes textures for 2d platformers:

    Do you know any tutorials?
Do you use equipment like pads for drawing?

I really want to learn how to do it, and if someone could give me some hints beside:" Just try and try and you got it"
Cause right now i am doing that.

Im starting a series soon that will take on just this. Using tablets or cintiqs is a must for this, making it with a mouse would be a timeconsuming experience. I use a Wacom Cintiq 24HD myself, but even the 13" is a good choice and MUCH cheaper.

I dont do pixelart tho so people would have to go somewhere else for that, and i usually try to stay within a zone of cartoony for games since that snags most ages if it were to be a commercial game.

some of these are old tho, especially the underwater stuff.

Hoping it will suffice. Im using Ferr2D to make my games and demo scenes so most of what u see here is tailored around that tool, wich is a ABSOLUTER must if u wanna create more natural looking enviroments and avoid tiles and stacking pieces.

Amazing! The last picture you posted is something like that I'm going after. I will look into the Ferr2D as it looks pretty cool and could help a lot!
Where and when can i find this series that you will be making? Also if i should buy a drawing tablet, what should the minimum price be for a guy on low budget? I found one called WACOM BAMBOO PAD for about 90 dollars. What do you think?
    And thanks again!

I started with a bamboo when i was new to painting and its a great little tablet for beginners. Now i use a wacom cintiq 24 but those are around 3000 bucks so dont get that unless u work freelance alot.

The series will start as soon as i move into the new studio, im also working on a few titles but i wanna squeeze this in and atleast do 2 videos a week.

Did you ever manage to start this series? I would love to know how to get started making these textures.
