Making an object glow, not emissive

    Apologies if this is incredibly simple, but I've not been able to find a solution and it's driving me nuts.

    I understand emissive materials and getting them to emit light. What I don't understand is how to make an object, or the material of that object, have a 'glow' effect. It's seen in this Unity video at the 6 min mark, the green glowing sphere at the back of the scene. How is that gradient glow effect achieved? The video never references it other than to talk about emission again. :(



    Any advice greatly appreciated.

    Unfortunately I was experiencing much lag here on mobile phones and I switched to some effects from the asset store
