Making a Broforce like game

Ok so i'm new to unity and yes my account says that i'm on unity for a month or so but i made this account just for fun... But anyways back to the theme i want to make a broforce like game but with a lot missing features like:
less levels, simple level selector like that angry birds one, changed main menu...
and now is this a good starting theme??







and i thing this is the wrong area so I'M SORRY

Unity 5 Personal is free without a time limit.

Broforce is quite a polished game that probably took a few years to develop. If you're just beginning with game development, I'd try to make something small. Really small. Then make that even smaller. Cut more features until it's as small as you can get. Even just making the basic controls & movement feel good can take a long time.

A good place to start with 2D:

• 2D creation video tutorials
• Unity's Sample 2D Platformer Project in the Asset Store
• Corgi Engine: Also a nice looking head start for a 2D platformer
