    Hello forum members:)
I am trying to learn unity with my first game snake and ladder I have basic scripting knowledge (C#). but I am totally new in 3D game development. How should I make the basic game board, and player movement in respect of dice value, I just want to know about basic concepts and logic used in a board game design and scripting, or any book that I can read for this. I am using blender and unity 4.6.

    Please provide some guidance
    (Sorry for poor Grammar):(

OK, I will provide some guidance — and this is in all sincerity (no sarcasm intended):

    1. Study the Unity forums, and learn, for example, the difference between the Game Design forum and the Scripting forum. (How questions almost always belong in the Scripting forum, and pretty much never belong here.)

    2. Capitalize the word "I" every time, and don't forget periods at the ends of sentences. Failing grade-school writing skills makes you look incompetent — which I'm sure is not true, but it looks that way nonetheless, and makes people less inclined to spend their time helping you.

    3. You're on the right track asking for a book. Forums (and Unity Answers) are great for getting answers to specific questions, but when you're at the stage where you haven't any idea how to even approach making a game, then you need to go through some tutorials first. Don't worry about the game you actually want to make; get a half-dozen small games of any type under your belt, following whatever books and tutorials resonate with you, and then you'll be in a position to start on the game you really want to make, asking specific questions when you get stuck.

Unfortunately, I don't have any specific books or tutorials to recommend, but I bet a google/Amazon search will turn up some good ones.

    Good luck!
    - Joe

I do not know if this is true or not as I am still learning, but for a game board I would think that you would need to look into making a grid map in much the same way a turret defense game would use one except your players will move to different grid spots in accordance to the dice roll.

    Hope that helps!

You also won't get much help by insulting people.

Like it or not, writing poorly in English drives people away. It's hard for us to read and bothers us. So many of us just go away rather than respond. If you really want help with things, you need to be polite and use basic grammar properly.

You should think about the very weak to nonexistent strategy of Snakes and Ladders a dice roll moves and random effects kick in.

Players cannot affect each other or the game.

What could you do to make it more fun!!!
