    So I'm currently trying to use the animation controller and I'm a complete beginner so i look up a video and when he right clicks the animation inside the animator, there is this Make Transition option there but for me its missing. The other three options are there however (Create State, Create Sub-state machine and copy and paste). Was wondering if I'm missing a package or tool that i was supposed to install, or is the option not available for some animation packages?

    If you right klick on the empty background space you will see the options you described, however if you rightclick on an animator state, you will see "make transition".

    I have the same issue, I think it's due to 2020.1.0a24 update because everything works correctly on previous version. It's impossible to make transition or move the states. Solution above doesn't work too.

    Found a solution. Press left click and right click at the same time. You should be able to make a transition.
    If the transition arrow doesnt appear, click another state and the transition will show

    Definitely a bug. I noticed my Inspection pane wasn't showing for the animation after adding one transition, and it wouldn't let me add another. But if you click the 3 dots in the corner of the Inspection pane and change it to "Debug" it works fine and lets you add more transitions.
    Then you have to go back to "Normal" mode to edit the transition, so I hope this gets fixed soon.

    Hi! Select for example "Idle" and "Fade_In" so both of them. Then right click and "Make Transition". Hope this solved the problem, at least in my case this worked.

    The bug is still present, but you can bypass it as CREZIKOVA explained. Hope it gets solved in a future update. ;)

    EDIT: Thanks CREZIKOVA btw, I was going crazy on that problem :D

    Thanks CREZIKOVA for this work around. Another issue for me is that I can no longer inspect the individual animations once they have transitions coming out of them.

    I confirm that the issue is still present in 2020.3.31f:

    EDIT: But both P_Snuggs and CREZIKOVA's solutions work.

    From my point of view I think since last updates they changed this and I see no bug in this since you can solve it pretty easy and with no work arounds.

    You have two "elements" in Animator that needs to be linked. So makes sanse to select both and make transitions.

    This is how I see it but I also see your point of view since before was more... simple so to say to make this action.

    Enjoy and have a nice day!

    Hi, I have the same problem "Unity 2020.3.32f1". I have a "partial solution", you must select 2 boxes (selecting their area, including transitions) and right-clicking a one of two animate-box. That's work for me! I hope help to community. :)

    I had the issue that no matter where I would right click it would just say 'Inspect Element' and I couldn't do anything else. The reason this was happening for me was I had the UI Toolkit Debugger window open. Once I closed that, everything was back to normal.

    Hi there. I write a simple tool for connecting states from menu Tools-Animator-MakeSelectedStatesTransition

    Drop script with name AnimatorTools to Editor folder, select first and second state and click Tools-Animator-MakeSelectedStatesTransition

    public class AnimatorTools : Editor
    {
    [MenuItem("Tools/Animator/MakeSelectedStatesTransition")]
    private static void MakeSelectedStatesTransition()
    {
    var selectedObjects = Selection.objects;
    if (selectedObjects.Length > 1)
    {
    var fromState = Selection.objects[0] as AnimatorState;
    var toState = Selection.objects[1] as AnimatorState;

    if (fromState && toState)
    {
    fromState.AddTransition(toState);

    var controller = AssetDatabase.LoadMainAssetAtPath(AssetDatabase.GetAssetPath(fromState));
    EditorUtility.SetDirty(controller);
    }
    }
    }
    }
