MainCamera has disabled the movement of my character

First off I should say I am using Game Creator from the asset store. Second let me state that I do not know C# at all. I use the inspector options for everything. Please don't respond that I need to learn C# or with code resolutions. Neither of those will help me right now.

The problem is that I was working with applying an animation to a billboard. After that I hit play and without any other changes - my character does not move. The odd thing about this is that if the MainCamera is disabled and then I hit play and enable the main camera - the character will move. But, if I enable the main camera in the inspector and hit play - character unmovable again.

Also, regressing to older scene saves doesn't resolve this. These changes are global somehow. I know this might be elementary for most of you, but first, why is my character moving in play mode once I enable MainCamera in play mode but not if I enable MainCamera out of play mode?

And second is there some sort of global setting that I am missing that is causing these issues between saves? I would have thought going to an earlier save would revert any changes - but this isn't happening. They persist between saves.

Again, probably simple things I'm missing here but this is the second time my entire project broke across all saves for arbitrary reasons. I just don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Any help is much appreciated! Thanks!

If I recall correctly if you use the example scene as starting point, on the camera there is a script that allows movement in the scene for that camera. This script may interfere with your character movement.

Check if there is that script attached and disable it

Hi Dorusoftware. I just realized what I did and it was incredibly stupid. It was because I had my Xbox controller plugged into my computer and on. Unity translated that to thinking I had a joystick and it was doing it's own thing. :(
