    Hi

    I mean if I already have a project done even with imported LightingBox (2.2 version for example). And I want to add the scenes that you have to download to that project.

    I see that the scenes come within a project already made and not like scenes inside a package or something ...

    I am still w8ing for the car scene you promised.
    Also i dont know why you removed different profiles in LB2

    Anybody have a ideia how to setup a good night scene with moonlight, the new version dont have nigh profile or something for that.

    For while I had to use the 1.3 version, cause have night profile, and UE4 profile.

    I need this in the 2.2 too.

    Can you update the new version with this profiles too.

    Hi Ali
    First off still really happy with lightbox !!

    I’m trying to use lightbox with a day night cycle and I wondered if you could offer some help and advice.
    I’m sure its me and how I’ve set up the lighting but I’m getting performance problems going from average fps of 117 down to 43 fps.

    I’ve done a video and some screenshots

    Video showing a range of different tests Youtube makes it look worse also whay day is going at normal speed it will be better


    Summary of the results


    If it’s a problem I can remove the water and have a dried up riverbed I was going to hide some crocodiles in there but its not super important to gameplay.

    I’m trying to do a really high quality Jungle I’m Not having Clouds or Weather to save resources for better Jungle I might even get rid of the water.

    This is what I would like:
    A few inches of mist covering the ground in the Morning just as my daytime Jungle Audio kicks in.
    Sun beating down all day to the sound of Cicadas (cool off by going swimming teehee)
    Spectacular sunset in the evening and very dark nights

    I think Lighting box can achieve this I just don’t know how to do it.

    Heeelllp it’s doing my head in …

    Because making same profiles is much faster now
    I will upload different videos about different scene types like LB1.3 setups

    Using post effects will reduce your fps up to 2x specially on high resolutions . This is a normal thing

    About optimization :
    1. Disable SSR in Finish tab
    2. Change shadow quality to medium or low in Edit->Project->Quality settings
    3. Increase terrain's Pixel error
    4. Drag game settings menu prefab into your scene and try different options performance
    5. Disable Realtime GI

    Also tell me your GPU model name and Scene poly count from camera view

    If you have more than one camera, send me your camera structure's screen shot from hierarchy

    Hi, i have a little bit of an odd request : can you please implement a master toggle to switch everything on and off ? just a boolean so i can test gameplay without the effects, without having to create new project ? Thanks :D

    It might be faster but we dont know how to do it properly. Whole point of LB was that we could easily use predetermined profiles and achieve the result we needed

    Current default settings is same as old version (with improvement)

    I think it would be better if you also have a sample settings just like profiles. For example if you have a UE4 profile we don't know what was the settings for that profile (the color of the sun, intensity, is it ambient source?, etc).

    I agree that having a library of some useful startup profiles to start from, that set a unique mood to a scene would really be quite helpful. Sure this has to do with the scene used, but having startup profiles from a library would really make the process much quicker and versatile

    Thanks for your response Ali I understand it is difficult to help when you cant just get in there and fiddle yourself.

    SSR was already disabled
    Reducing Shadow quality didn’t effect performance much and was unaceptably ugly
    Increacing Pixel Error for 5 to 15 made little performance effect
    I disabled Realtime GI which also didn’t effect performance much.

    I have just 700 trees / plants in my scene for testing and there will be many more in the actual scene probably 30 – 50,000.
    also not sure where to find the poly count

    Now Interestingly:
    The Act of Dragging your game settings prefab into the scene changed things
    I dragged projectName \ Assets \ LightingBox2 \ Prefabs \ Canvas.prefab into my scene

    My FPS never seems to go above 60fps is it adjusted / pinned to 60fps somehow?
    I can turn everything on or off and it remains around the 60fps mark see video

    You have different profiles like outdoor,night scene, stylized environment profile.
    Why dont you just make those profiles available so that we can just drag and drop those profiles instead of us making our own

    If you create a new profile, you have my default settings like old lighting box profile
    Lighting Box is not just a few profile set, it's an quick way to adjust important parameters faster with proper settings
    Currently you can customize your profile in few seconds or just use default settings
    I will share my new profiles

    Disable V-Sync to see actual performance
    I think the problem is your modeling because your GPU is good enough to run +100fps with effects
    Check you poly count specially your tree and grass model

    Ali,

    Regarding speed optimization, instead of forcing the user to switch on/off those settings tha do affect it, why don’t you add some quick controls in the ui that would help him do it through the UI itself ? That would really make it ideal and compact. Any chance ?

    Add a performance setting for:
    1) resetting settings for testing performance by automatically setting attributes (ssr, shadow quality, pixel error, Vsync, etc) through maybe a drop down menu of a performance setting
    2) enabling/disabling LightingBox as a global switch

    Of course to the above I think also that is essential at some point to make lightingBox complete to add’;
    3) mobile setting that would optimize performance for mobiles AS WELL AS provide cut down performance options for all -if possible- effects though alternative low-performance-cost AND all-mobiles-compatible solutions

    The image has been made using current 2.2 version and standard shader (double sided)

    I am rather confused.

    The example is made with standard and has such result with no translucency, even if visually it seems it has ? The ordinary standard shader doesn't have this result. It must be a custom one, right ?

    The one shown at https://forum.unity.com/attachments/webp-net-gifmaker-3-gif.250739/ is with transulcency on the other hand right ? Hence not realtime ?

    Can you share both examples?

    Have you modified the standard shader to support translucency, or is this related to the 2017.2 update?

    I have just seen he 2.3 video on youtube already!

    Will LB2.3 contain both dynamic snow effect shader as well as this particular translucency shader ?
    Any announcement as to when will 2.3 be available ?

    What types of vegetation shaders are there. Such as realtime only and baked only with wind etc and will they ship with 2.3 on the store?

    Shader is not related on Baked or Realtime mode.
    My shader is based on Standard Lighting Model (pbr)
    Wind mode video already posted in this topic

    Will be shipped with 2.3 + Snow controller component and trigger + Translucency controller
    if you will use my shader for all you models, my controller component can change values based on trigger or slider or script
