Low Poly Strategy Prototyper - [2.0 LIVE]

    Howdy !

    LowPoly Strategy Prototyper is our brand new asset that contains 90+ ready-to-use elements to Build or Prototype your own LowPoly styled Game. This asset has been optimised to work really fast on mobile devices.

    Try it yourself using Web Player Demo. All that you see is in that package*


    Each model has 50-300 triangles. You will also get 6 Sample Maps and one scene with preview of all elements. Additionally, we incorporated a Geometry FX Particles Demo Preview in this asset for you so you can now create all those amazing weather effects !

    All Screenshots were made in Unity Editor and thats how it is going to look like in Unity3D and on your mobile.

    All elements are Correctly Prepared for the Unity Engine - each element is made as a prefab with correct coordinates, scale and physics colliders. Just drag and drop and build your dream Game or Prototype for your first Game Made in Unity. We also gave you some HD textures with 2048 px resolution.

    This asset comes with Elements such as:

    Its so soft, and amazing.

    Is this a shader?

    I would also like to know exactly which effects were used in the video. It looks amazing, but I don't want to find out after purchasing it that most of the style came from heavy image effects that aren't suitable for mobiles.
    If it's possible to run you asset with the same quality as in the video on an android or iphone/ipad, it's an instant buy. :)

    Edit: Looks like atleast DOF and vignette in the video? Is it possible to get a small video without image effects, or are they different from the stock image effects that comes with Unity (more optimized)?

    Tried the demo! Awesome. Does the blur camera effect comes with the asset? It looks awesome with the camera movement.

    Hi there, we are using here many techniques. Most effective effect is not going from any shader or post process. This asset look so amazing because we prerendered all lights and colours into maps so its very well optimised. In Web Player and Video we are using only Tilt Shift Effects which blurs parts of screen.

    Answer is on the top. I can make in future a video from mobile device to show you that (without tilt shift) it looks almost the same on 60fps. Right now I can build for you web player without tilt shift and you will see what you will achieve on mobile on 60fps.

    Yes that camera blur effects comes with asset.

    Hi there, after attack of few people that they want to have animated characters I think I have to do it :). So new update with animations will come in 1-2 weeks. Yes after purchase you will get animations. It all will be in the same package. But hurry up because with animations price will be a little bit bigger.

    Guys I think you can create a nice strategy game with that maybe some runner. You can always build a game in this style using that elements for iOS or any other platform. It is all about your creativity and imagination. At the moment I have a 5 game ideas what I can make with that asset. For example you can create using that asset cool 2.5D platformer.

    Main features include user-requested Characters Animations made using the Mecanim System. We created animations such as: walk, run, attack, jump, die, evade - animations are different for each class of characters.

    Really beautiful assets - I had to pick this up. I just wish the examples provided were built with game objects instead of imported as a single mesh.

    Hi there,

    We provide you with Scenes that comes with seperated Game Objects, but we also created optimised versions with single mesh so you can decide which version you want to use - all its there. Each element is made as prefab so you can easly build your own levels. Also all animations are just dragn & drop.

    Any plan to make shooter class? those with one-hand/two-hand gun animations? Would be great for top-down shooters!

    Our visual target in this asset was more, medieval classy style. But thanks for suggestion we will think about making new asset with guns and other related stuff!

    Thanks for this asset.

    I picked this up in the sale yesterday and had a few observations.

    • When you import the package it seems to want to overwrite the existing project, so this means it asks to be put into its own new project? Game Template did not require this?
    • I see this message "The image effect Main Camera (TiltShiftHdr) has been disabled as it's not supported on the current platform." - so not sure why as I'm running on Mac?

    One thought occurred to me about this and Game Template. I wondered whether it is possible to have (re)colour scripts that can provide colour variations at all? With Game Template it could offer alternatives to the grey/orange by allowing the user to select, and the same here with the houses/environment. It would mean everyone could make it unique to their own needs.

    Thanks for purchasing our asset. We really appreciate this.
    1. Regarding to Thomas Kristiansen Leade Developer at Unity this was some bug on the Asset Store side and it should be fixed. He said: "The error has now been fixed. The warning was erroneously being shown for all imports. That is probably why some users thought that ProjectSettings.asset was being added to all packages. Nothing has changed in regards to package build/upload/submission. It was only the warning message that was misplaced."
    2. What platform are you using ? Some platform are not supported for Image Effects. (http://docs.unity3d.com/Manual/script-TiltShiftHdr.html) Regarding to documentation:
      "This effect requires a graphics card that supports Shader Model 3. See the Graphics Hardware Capabilities and Emulation page for further details and a list of compliant hardware."
    In this asset our purpose was to create unique style of colors. Not all of colors will look so good in this kind of environment. If you would like to change colors of this elements there are two ways. 1. You can play in photoshop picking specific colors and change theirs HUE. 2. Put this models into 3D software and change manually elements that you would like to colorize.

    You know - If you want to achieve such high quality visually aesthetic feeling colors when used together with soft shadows, ambient occlusion and juicy colors there is really hard to create dynamic materials that you can change on the fly.

    1 - is it fixed in an updated version of Unity? I am using 4.6.1f1
    2 - Retina Macbook Pro 15

    Re colours - yes I think you are right. I am a big fan of your work as I like the colour combinations and simplicity of what you achieve. What I had in mind was something like Polyworld toolkit https://www.assetstore.unity3d.com/en/#!/content/18572 where the author has a recolour script which I think makes the asset so much more useful :)



    It was just a thought whether the same strategy could be applied here...

    In my opinion Polyworld is more like a tool and it's something different we made here an ready-made environment custo made. In some level if you want to achieve really good lighting and overall visual quality you need to have something more custom made and very often there is much less "room" for customization. If you want to change colors just try to use the ways i write you before! Thanks

    Yes right now we are working on Unity5 Features & Support. Also we will try to add one scene with new Physical Based Shading and Global Illumination. So our asset will look even better!

    Yes We know issue about idle. We already have made idle animations and they are one the way in next update to the Asset Store. Time: We are going to upload it in 2-4 days~+pending time.

    @beffio This is the most wonderful low poly game asset I ever saw.
    It's so detailed and works well with every other low poly asset.

    The scripts are well developed and work fine for other assets.

    I was wondering since this package uses "fake lights", is it possible for the developer to supply the real lights used so we can use them ourselves for the game?

    Hi there,

    Yes in latest update we provide you with new map that if fully baked using new Unity5 Lighting. Just turn off bake lightmaps and you will get full real-time lights. All prefabs are made for building your own map and levels so our baked examples are just an examples. If you want to make your own level it's easy to make that.

    Try to check this Documentation for Tips:

    Also I recommend to you - Try to open Demo Scene in folder Sample Maps -> RealTimeMap.scene. Check how things are build there.

    I recommend to you build something on this Map even if you would like to have a clean map delete all models but don't delete lights and effects. You can just drag and drop prefab elements there and I think you should create something creative. Then try to read our Documentation with tips how to bake lights or just use it with real time lights.

    Ok, so I checked your documentation but there are no tips how did you bake lights.

    - How did you make textures like "Buildings" "Characters"? Did you use Unity 5.0 lightmapping for this?

    It's highlighted in documentation how I made this. In latest update we baked everything using Unity5 GI baking. Some of maps are pre-baked in 3rd part software. If you want to know more about some techniques contact us using beffio.com/contact form.

    Very nice asset!!! Love the artwork.
    Were the assets and the characters made edited in Blender? Because I dont own 3dmax.
    I mean sometimes when editing premade fbx files in blender the pivot points get all messed up and then the animations get all wrong. I am still a noob when it comes to 3d stuff, not sure if it actually matters where the fbxs were made...just comparing my experience with other 3d models files i got from the internet.

    Thanks.This elements were made in blender but animated in motionbuilder. I think you should easily import them into blender if you know how to do it correctly. All elements are made using fbx format. But it's your choice I know that sometimes if you have not big experience it could be hard to match all animation together.

    Hi,
    Just bought it. But I think the included documentation is not complete. How do I bake lights?
    And how do I use Universal Render Pipeline? When I converted the project to use URP, RealTimeMap scene can't be loaded. Unity crashes.

    The post processing script is also missing.
