    Hi!
I am having bad fps performances with a power notebook with an i7 4810mq, 16 gb ram 1600 mhz and an nvidia gtx 870m 6 gb. I'm running a demo project in unity and it runs @10-14 fps, while the same project with the same quality settings runs @65 fps on a macbook pro late 2011 with a radeon 6750M 512 mb.
What's going on? The nvidia gtx should goes way better than the old radeon, but here it isn't.

Thanks in advance for any help!

This could be any number of things honestly, I wouldn't suspect it is anything to do with the hardware you have. Its far more likely to be a software issue, do you have a large number of background processes on the Power Notebook? Are your drivers up to date?

Like I say it could literally be a million reasons, any more information you can provide would probably be of help to the situation here.

Hi thanks for your reply. Afaik not a large number of process are running....it's just avast and standard background processes of windows 7. Drivers are up to date as well. Is there any other test i can do?

You could try running PerfMon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/System_Monitor) while your system is idle and also when you are running the demo project to see the difference, then that would make it easy to see if your computers resources are being used soley by the demo project or if some things in the background are causing performance issues.

It could be from Nvidia acting up or something on Unity's end with using that card. I was like that for awhile when I was using the cryengine awhile back. I would make sure your drivers are up to date. With the 870 being new updates are sure to come to patch issues. Upgrading these might shift your performance one way or another.

I'm using a Samsung laptop for almost a year now and yet haven't had any performance problems. What kind of demo is it?
